Boursin
 
A versatile, delicious, but high fat spread. I regularly use neufchatel but have never tried butter substitute.

Serves: 2-3 cups
Ingredients
  • 16 ozs cream cheese, softened
  • 8 oz carton whipped butter, salted or unsalted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Option I
  • 1 teaspoon tarragon
  • 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon chervil
  • 1 teaspoon chopped chives
  • Option II
  • ½ teaspoon oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon dill
  • ¼ teaspoon marjoram
  • ¼ teaspoon basil
  • ¼ teaspoon thyme
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
Instructions
  1. Cream butter and cheese
  2. Mix in herbs from list I or II
  3. Cover and refrigerate 1-3 days (3 for best flavor)
